Fox News (Gregg Re, May 18, 2020) reported that Reps. Jim Jordan and Mike Johnson said FBI Director Christopher Wray had “declined to respond” to their May 4 letter seeking information and interviews after the Flynn-case disclosures. The same story quotes their letter to agent Joe Pientka: “Because Director Wray has declined to respond to our request, we are forced to write to you directly.” They asked him to sit for a transcribed House Judiciary interview.

A prior Fox piece that month said the same members demanded that Wray produce Priestap and Pientka after the Flynn filings. Those are letters and a news account. They are not a hearing transcript. They are not a finding that the FBI “hid” him as a legal conclusion. The phrase “hidden from scrutiny” in later roundups is commentary.

Jordan’s public line in that Fox story was “Where is Christopher Wray?” That is a member’s remark, as reported. This site does not invent a Trump quote about the letter.
