On or about November 27, 2020, Carter Page’s complaint in the District of Columbia named Joe Pientka among the defendants. Courthouse News posted a PDF of that filing. A civil caption is a public act. It is not a finding. Everything Page alleges about what Pientka did on FISA paperwork is an allegation unless a court adopts it.

Pientka answered, through counsel, with a motion to dismiss that describes his SSA assignment at WFO, a temporary Crossfire Hurricane role, a Woods-file review on the first Page application, and a January 2017 return to the field office. That is his side of the identity and role story. This site does not pretend the motion “clears” him of Page’s theories. It also does not treat Page’s theories as facts.

The Federalist (January 26, 2022) later recapped takeaways from the Page filings, including allegations against Pientka. That column is commentary on a docket. No conviction of Pientka was located in these records. He remains a witness/agent and a civil defendant, not a convict.
